At RIDEWAY, owner-operators receive 82% of the gross load, while the company takes 18%. This allows owner-operators to retain the majority of their earnings from each load, promoting higher income potential and incentivizing efficiency and performance.

RIDEWAY handles various types of loads, including dry van loads, reefer, stepdeck, and flatbed. This versatility allows us to meet the diverse needs of our customers and provide a range of opportunities for our owner-operators. Additionally, we have direct customers and also utilize load boards to ensure a steady flow of freight and maximize opportunities for our drivers.

If you deliver a load before 12:00 PM EST and submit your Bills of Lading (BOLs) along with all required paperwork for the load, we will verify the load and pay you immediately upon verification. Our team strives to verify each load as quickly as possible, typically completing the process within 4 hours. This ensures that you have quick access to your earnings without having to wait for standard payment cycles, helping to maintain cash flow and financial stability. Please note that this expedited payment process is available during business days (Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays). Any load submitted for payment outside of these hours will be processed and paid on the following business day, as long as the load has been verified. Best of all, there is no additional fee for this service, so you can enjoy fast, efficient payment without any extra cost.

Our fuel card is designed to boost your profitability by offering significant discounts at major truck stops—helping you save up to $0.85 per gallon. We negotiate fiercely on your behalf to secure the best fuel prices, ensuring that one of your highest expenses is kept in check. With access to our real-time pricing app, you'll always know where the best deals are, wherever you are. Please note that the fuel card is not active on your first load. Starting with your second load and for every subsequent load, once you pick up the load, your fuel card is activated, and we promptly advance up to 40% of your portion of that load. If there are accessorials on a load, such as detention, you will get paid for these once they are confirmed and paid by the customer. This ensures that you are fairly compensated for any additional time or services provided.

Public Liability and Cargo Insurance: $298 per week to cover necessary insurance requirements.

Plate Program: $67 per week if applicable.

ELD and Permits: $24.83 per week for electronic logging device compliance, IFTA processing, and necessary permits.

IFTA Miles Tax: Charged per load based on the miles run.

If you rent a trailer from RIDEWAY, the trailer rental fee is $285 per week. This fee will be deducted from the first load you complete during the week. Our trailers are 53-foot dry vans with swing doors, ensuring that you have access to reliable and well-maintained equipment without the upfront cost of purchasing your own trailer. In addition, all maintenance is covered except for damage and blowouts.

Payments are calculated by first deducting the 18% revenue split from the gross load payment. Following this, all weekly deductions are applied, which are deducted from the first load of the week. Our week runs from Sunday through Saturday. Additionally, the IFTA miles tax is deducted per load based on the miles run for that specific load. Estimated tolls are deducted per load if applicable unless a toll receipt is presented. This system ensures that all necessary costs are covered before disbursing your earnings, simplifying your financial management and ensuring compliance with all requirements.

If you have a negative balance due to fuel advances or other expenses, this negative balance will be deducted from the earnings of your subsequent loads until repaid. This ensures that all debts are managed and repaid promptly, maintaining the financial integrity of your operations.

If you need breakdown assistance, contact the driver assistance department for help. If the assistance is approved, we will set up a repayment plan for any costs incurred. This ensures that you receive the necessary support promptly while managing the financial aspects of the assistance effectively.

Yes, at RIDEWAY, owner-operators have the flexibility to choose their preferred routes and manage their own schedules. This allows for a healthy work-life balance and the ability to align professional goals with personal needs.

We do not have escrow. Instead, we require deposits to secure your equipment and streamline our process. A $500 deposit is required for the ELD and a $1,500 deposit is required for a trailer (if renting from us), both structured over a 10 week period. Please note that these are deposits and not escrow. If our relationship terminates for any reason and the equipment is returned in good order, your deposit will be refunded immediately.
